Her commitment to specialization led her to a residency at Hospital Oftalvet CDMX (1997–2001), one of Mexico’s premier centers for ophthalmologic training.

Today, Aytzeé Piñón wears multiple hats with distinction. She serves as an ophthalmologist at DMCZE FMVZ-UNAM and Animal Home Veterinary Hospital in Mexico City, where she has provided specialized care since 2012.
Her caseload includes a wide range of companion and large animals, with a strong focus on equine patients, routinely managing complex conditions such as uveitis, corneal ulcers, cataracts, and traumatic ocular injuries – an area where ongoing mastery of equine eye ulcer treatment techniques can significantly enhance clinical outcomes.
In addition to her clinical work, Aytzeé Piñón plays an active role in veterinary education. As an academic at FMVZ-UNAM’s Department of Equine Medicine and Surgery, she teaches, mentors, and inspires the next generation of veterinarians.
