Dr. Tom Donnelly-Newton graduated with honors from the University of Liverpool, UK, in 2013. His early career focused on equine medicine, where he worked in first-opinion and referral practices across the UK, New Zealand, and Australia.
During this time, he pursued advanced training, achieving the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (Equine Internal Medicine) and earning membership with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS) in the Medicine of Horses.
It was during his time in Queensland, Australia, that Dr. Tom Donnelly-Newton encountered a wide range of challenging equine eye cases. These experiences sparked a deep fascination with ophthalmology and inspired him to expand his career beyond equine practice.
Recognizing that ophthalmology spans across species, he transitioned to small animal practice, gaining four years of valuable experience in emergency and critical care.
