Graduating with both a Bachelor of Science (Veterinary) and Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Sydney, Dr. Jennifer Stewart went on to complete a PhD focused on heart and lung function in foals.
Her early research explored the resistance of equine strongyles to benzimidazole anthelmintics, a study that set the tone for her career-long commitment to solving complex health challenges in horses.
Dr. Jennifer Stewart’s expertise has taken her around the world, from equine medicine, antibiotic research, and exercise physiology at universities in North Carolina, Michigan, and Florida, to stud and racetrack practice in Newmarket and Cambridge, UK.
Upon returning to Australia, she established a dedicated equine practice on the NSW Central Coast and went on to serve for over 20 years as an official veterinarian for the Australian Jockey Club. She was also part of the veterinary team for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
