A Career Rooted in Passion and Precision
Dr. Nathan Anthony graduated with honors in Veterinary Science and later earned membership in the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in the field of Equine Surgery in 2010, a credential that underscores his commitment to advancing veterinary excellence.
His career began in mixed animal practice in South Australia, but a passion for horses soon led him to specialize in equine medicine. Following a stint in the UK honing his skills, he returned to Australia and settled at WestVETS’ Anstead location in 2002.
Since then, Dr. Nathan Anthony has transformed WestVETS into a multi-site operation, expanding its services in 2012 with a second location in Marburg and a cutting-edge Equine Reproduction Centre.
Today, WestVETS is widely recognized for its comprehensive veterinary services, ranging from emergency care and advanced surgical procedures to reproductive medicine and elite sports horse management.
Championing Performance Horse Health
Dr. Nathan Anthony’s expertise lies in the diagnosis and treatment of lameness in performance horses, equine surgery, and pre-purchase examinations. His work goes far beyond clinic walls; his knowledge is sought by athletes and veterinarians across the country.

But perhaps his most visible role is as Veterinarian for the Australian Eventing Team, a title he has proudly held since 2013. His involvement has taken him to two Olympic Games, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, as well as multiple World Championships, including the 2022 FEI World Championships in Italy.
