Dr. Jack Easley is a globally recognized leader in equine dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and veterinary education. With over four decades of experience, Dr. Easley has transformed the field of equine veterinary medicine through his innovative approaches and dedication to advancing oral health care for horses.
After earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Tuskegee University in 1976, Dr. Easley completed a Large Animal Internship at Oklahoma State University.
His passion for equine surgery led him to Kansas State University, where he completed a surgical residency, earned a Master’s degree in Surgery, and served as an Associate Professor of Surgery.
In 1982, Dr. Jack Easley was certified by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) in equine practice, achieving re-certification every 10 years – a testament to his commitment to lifelong learning and professional excellence.
Most recently, he earned Diplomate status with the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC), specializing in equine dentistry, further solidifying his reputation as a pioneer in this specialized field.
Dr. Easley is the co-editor and a major contributor to the leading textbook on equine dentistry, Equine Dentistry & Maxillofacial Surgery, and has authored hundreds of peer-reviewed articles and professional publications.
He serves on editorial boards for several prestigious journals, including Equine Veterinary Education, Equine Veterinary Journal, and Veterinary Dental Journal.
The Tuskegee graduate contributions have significantly shaped how veterinarians approach equine dental and maxillofacial care worldwide.
Dr. Easley operates a private practice in Shelbyville, Kentucky, where he focuses on equine dentistry, oral surgery, maxillofacial medicine, and reproduction. He consults extensively on dental and surgical cases, providing mentorship and expertise to veterinarians seeking specialized assistance.
