Jessica Partlow
DVM, DACVS LA

When it comes to equine surgery, few names carry the authority and dedication of Jessica Partlow. A registered specialist in equine surgery and a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (Large Animal), Jessica Partlow is renowned for her meticulous surgical skill, academic rigor, and deep-seated passion for advancing veterinary care, especially in the realm of equine ophthalmology.
From Michigan Roots to Global Recognition
Partlow’s journey into veterinary excellence began at Michigan State University, where she earned both her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degrees. Graduating in 2010, she immediately stepped into one of the most demanding and respected internship programs in the field, Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center in New Jersey.
This experience cemented her love for equine medicine and opened the door to specialized surgical training. Her surgical residency took her from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine to a return stint at Mid-Atlantic Equine, where she immersed herself in large animal surgery.
After completing her residency, she achieved board certification and was named a Diplomate of the ACVS in 2017.
Equine Surgery Expertise in Australia
Since attaining specialist status, Partlow has brought her talents to Australia, where she practices as an equine surgeon at the prestigious Scone Equine Hospital, one of the Southern Hemisphere’s leading centers for equine health and reproduction.
Her surgical repertoire spans complex orthopedic and soft tissue procedures, as well as minimally invasive laparoscopic techniques, all executed with clinical precision and an unwavering commitment to animal welfare.
But what truly sets Partlow apart is her special interest in equine ophthalmology. Merging surgical expertise with a profound understanding of ocular health, she is uniquely positioned to diagnose and treat complex eye conditions in horses—an area often underserved in equine practice.
A Personal Passion for Vision
Jessica’s interest in equine eye care isn’t just professional, it’s personal. In addition to pursuing formal post-graduate training in ophthalmology, she benefits from continuous mentorship by her husband, a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist.
This dynamic collaboration has enriched her understanding and skill in both the surgical and medical management of equine ocular diseases, giving her patients access to a rare blend of knowledge and precision in this niche field.
